Parents and Guides from 4th Staines (St Peter’s) Company held a fundraising evening in November and raised £61 for the BBC’s “Children in Need” appeal.

Activities on offer included a treasure hunt, nail painting and decorating your own biscuit.  Alison Kirby, Guide leader and Joint District Commissioner for Staines, said “The girls all worked really hard to make the evening a success and it was excellent to have such support from the parents”

The climax of the evening was the presentation of the Baden Powell Award to two of the company’s Guides, Nicola Capon and Sarah Borland.  The Baden Powell Award is the highest level of achievement that can be gained in the Guide Section. During the presentation Alison Kirby commented “We are very proud of both girls.  The award takes a tremendous amount of time, dedication and hard work and we wish them every success for the future and with their next challenge, The Queen’s Guide Award”.
